Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

I must say Maybelline is the drugstore brand with the most varieties of mascara.  Lash Sensational Mascara is the newest one to pop up and I had to try it out.  I bought it from Ulta for $8.99, but you can find it at just about any drugstore.

Lets discuss the brush first.  It is a curved brush with plastic bristles that vary in size so that it creates a fan effect.  The bristles are longer on one side and shorter on the other.  The brush did help create a fan effect with my lashes, although it was not dramatic enough.  The brush does pick up too much product so I had to wipe off the excess.  It can cause clumps if the excess is not wiped off well enough.

I bought the shade Blackest Black and it was nicely pigmented.  The formula is light but on the drier side.  I like to add a few layers of mascara throughout the day and I just can’t do that with drier formulas.  If you add too many layers of this mascara it can start creating that spidery lash look, which I hate.  A huge positive of this formula is that it does not flake!  Also, this formula did not smudge at all even though it is not waterproof.

Overall, I do believe the mascara creates a pretty natural lash look.  I would recommend this mascara if you opt for more natural lashes.  I prefer dramatic mascaras so I wouldn’t purchase it again.
